Agriculture and Agroforestry are the main main forest management mode in the Reserve. Cocoa-based agroforests are predominant and they are followed by banana-based agroforests. Many Funded projects occur in the forest, supporting sustainable cassava production.
The Forest Reserve is a Huge Cassava Production Basin. Its production contributes to supply both the local, the Central and the Southern Cassava and Plantains Markets. Many goods from the reserve are also exported to Equatorial Guinee and Gabon. Timber and non-Timber Forest Products exploitation have been for a long while the main source o revenue generated from the reserve. Though still present, the exploitation has reduced due to the scarcity of iconic Species.The Proximity of Nyong River, offers the Inhabitants of the Rivers, and those of its surroundings, the opportunity to pratice many activities amongts which fishing. Buildings Canoes is a major use of the remaining favorable trees in the Forest Stand.
